Weddings, Civil Ceremonies & Receptions

Unlike many venues, Rownhams House has always been a home. The existing house was built as a result of a shocking love story set in the mysterious Near East. And over the centuries it has seen its fair share of passion and intrigue.

If you choose to celebrate your special occasion at Rownhams House you will be adding to this story. The house is owned and loved by a family who are there at a discreet distance should you need them. Please note that we will NEVER host more than one event at a time - your day ought to be infused with both magic and calm. You should not feel you are part of some commercial production line.

We also have supplementary price lists for couples who may wish to have a smaller and more intimate gathering. We can also host  a ceremony on its own; and this could easlily be linked to an informal daytime buffet or even a picnic. Our prices generally start at £300 and rise to £3.000 Our maximum capacity is about 120 - more than that and we feel the magic begins to dissipate.

We can also cope very well with 'short notice' weddings where, provided it does not impinge upon another event, we may be able to offer a price reduction. So ...if Cupid strikes you through the heart ... carpe diem!

Although we do 'dreams' in preference to 'packages' ,we have gathered together some wonderful people who can make it happen for you. Just send us an email - some brief details would help - and we will promptly email you back with a further information document and a list of prices and options.

 We are an independent,  friendly and 'non-pushy' venue ... but please do not turn up unannounced!
